the second is the documentary's own site...while its broadcast in
the UK is unlikely to be repeated elsewhere,the website will have
a full transcript after tonight's broadcast.

Also note that there is a message board at the latter site...
registration required,and so far almost empty.A place to urge
that the lessons learned from the collapse be applied to stronger
new towers.

The Congressional hearings into the collapse were given some news
coverage yesterday...apparently recycling of the steel without
giving time to investigate has retarded some research into the
details of the collapse.I noted that Dr. Astaneh was there,he has
been working on disaster-proofing large buildings since the Oklahoma
City bomb,but his testimony was not on network news...did anyone
catch it on C-SPAN?

The Rebuilding the Twin Towers site reports that the Lower Manhattan
(RE)Development Corporation's office is now open at 1 Liberty Plaza,
New York,New York 100038...phone number 212-225-3500.

Note that the word "Redevelopment" has lately been turned into
"Development" in references to the entity...possibly as a means
of indicating their bias toward NOT restoring what the terrorists
took away.Chairman John Whitehead was widely shown making his
statement that everyone he talked to agreed it was neither possible
or appropriate to do what in fact MUST be done...we need to show him
he's been talking to the wrong people!

Write...a good letter,from the heart...but don't stop there.
Let them know,whether you're a New Yorker,an American,or an
international admirer of the lost Towers and what they stand for,
whether you want identical towers or different ones on the same
footprint or not,put your case as best you can...
but remember that this corporation is not the only entity with a
say.It's the Port Authority's property...let them know,too.
And remind the relevant politicians.

The President has talked about more monetary aid to NYC
for reconstruction...why not urge that it be strictly conditioned
on reconstruction being in the form of huge twin towers?
