(NEW YORK) Commentator/columnist Andy Martin will conduct a special
nationwide radio/Internet news conference edition of "Andy Martin's America"
Thursday, July 18th at 1:00 P.M. to continue a national talk radio crusade
aimed at rebuilding the World Trade Center. Martin will sharply
criticize the architectural proposals to rebuild the World Trade Center that
were released today, July 16th.

"These are six weenie proposals with buildings that reflect fear, not
confidence, and that reflect a massive psychological victory for the
terrorists," says Martin.

"I strongly support reconstruction of the World Trade Center Twin Towers, or
equally tall buildings. The World Trade Center site is a precious economic
asset. It provided $120 million per year for mass transit services.

"But it has also become a worldwide symbol of America's determination not to
succumb to terrorism or the fear of terrorism. We need to rebuild landmark
buildings that will attract tenants and visitors and stand as testimony to
the fact that our skyline will not be redesigned by murderers.

     "In so far as a memorial is concerned, and after the tall towers are
reconfigured on the site, I believe with Mayor Bloomberg that 'less is more.'
The only fitting memorial for the victims is new towers even taller and more
dramatic than those that were downed by the murderers.

Martin's controversial program "Andy Martin's America" has become a fulcrum
of foreign policy debate, political analysis and contemporary commentary on
the Internet. Martin is a national columnist for Out2.com.

   Martin is a former tenant of the World Trade Center and operated a
security/economic consulting firm at the WTC.

   Martin has been involved in broadcasting for 34 years, as an on-air
personality, and in management, sales and consulting. Martin has been an
adjunct professor of law at the City University of New York.

on the new proposals,though as ever they take a long time to
post submitted responses.

And of course the various newspaper letter columns...in New York
and wherever you are...could do with a good dose of criticizing
the lack of courage and ambition in these plans.(A NYCS poster
made a good analogy to Empire State Plaza in Albany).
