Date: Thu, 25 Jul 2002 13:37:59 -0400 (EDT) From: Louis Epstein Subject: WTC Rebuilding:Online Registration Etc. I have now put up a rather raw link list at http://www.put.com/wtc/ for reference. Argus Sventon reports that the online registration for the web-based version of "Listening to the City" is up and running at http://dialogues.listeningtothecity.org/ and apparently DOES take people from anywhere who want to register,at least provisionally. "Lift Every Voice and Sing",people...we need as much participation as possible in this to outcompete the voices of those who want little blocks of little buildings and an empty necropolis where giant towers should rise high and proud. If you were at LTTC in person I think you will be filtered out,but this is for everyone else. Tannis Baker spotted a good NY Post opinion piece today, http://www.nypost.com/postopinion/opedcolumnists/53302.htm by Nicole Gelineau, whose hotmail address was given so I added her to the list...anyone who wants off the list need only ask. Another recruit to the email list is former San Diego Mayor Roger Hedgecock, who Jim Wilson heard specifically advocating new, taller Twin Towers on the air.I have heard Ed Koch was pro-rebuilding but I have heard too little specific to add him. Erik Sieb has continued to find new supporters...I think we are over 750 good addresses now...and I have asked Derek Turner if he'll provide supporter addresses also. They each have their own designs for a new WTC (see their websites linked at the web address at top of this email) but to help one very tall plan is to help all and vice versa. Don't forget the Gotham Gazette Java-Chat with Doctoroff at noon next Wednesday,or to get well written and clear comments about the Phase I site plans that urge taller towers and downplay the other supposed priorities to the comment addresses in plenty of time for the deadlines! -=-=- The World Trade Center towers MUST rise again, at least as tall as before...or terror has triumphed.
